your computer is running windows 10 home, it is not in S-mode
what made you think windows was in S-mode?

if you are having a problem downloading from places other than the store look in
settings -> apps -> apps & features
under choose where to get apps from
select something other than microsoft store only

Oh, thank you. That explains it!

When I bought it new I found it was in S mode as my local computer shop had difficulty loading Microsoft Office 2007. They managed to do it, but when I receive Word or Powerpoint documents on email attachments it opens them in Office 2016 as read only, with an advertising option to buy Office 365. I thought this was the S mode overriding my Office 2007. Not sure how i make them open in Office 2007
